At the recent summit of Arab states, Syrian dictator (excuse me,
"President") Bashir Al-Assad, the son of former Syrian dictator Hafez
Al-Assad, denounced the State of Israel as "Nazi-like" and
"Racist."
So what else is new?
King David, the Ruler of Jerusalem, prayed,
חרפת נבל אל
תשימני "Save me from the insults of
obscene prople." (Psalms 39:9) What is meant by "the insults of
obscene people?" An "obscene person" is someone who will accuse
another, an innocent person of committing crimes which the accuser is
guilty.
Let us examine the accusations of "racism" and
Nazism" made by His Excellency Bashir Al-Assad.
Israeli citizens are Black and White; Asian, European, and
African. Jewish law makes no distinctions between Black and White, and Israel
law makes no distinction between Jews and non-Jews. Non-Jewish citizens of
Israel enjoy the same civil liberties, the same ownership of property, the same
right to vote, the same representation in the Knesset as Jewish citizens. Arab
Muslim citizens of Israel worship freely, may listen to uncensored sermons
calling for the expulsion and extermination of the Jews, and even have their own
political party with representatives in the Knesset which has as its platform
the destruction of the Jewish State and the expulsion of all Jews from
Palestine. (Another political party, of Jews, calling for the transfer of the
Arab population to the Palestinian Authority and other exclusive Arab countries,
has been declared illegal and its members imprisoned.)
Arab citizens of Israel, while enjoying all the other civil
rights of Israelis, are not required to serve in the Israel Defense Forces,
although they can volunteer if they wish to (as the Druze and Bedouin community
do). It
can be argued that this makes them "second class citizens" but this
can hardly be described as "racism" and Nazi-like genocide."
The argument of "genocide" is also based on the
lopsided number of casualties on both sides: over 360 Palestinians have been
killed, as opposed to fewer than 70 Israelis. But after six months of fighting,
360 is a miserably low number for a nation supposedly hell-bent on
"genocide." If 360 Palestinian casualties after six month is
"excessive force," then how does one explain 500
Somali civilian casualties by UN and US "peacekeeping" forces
in one day? How does one explain the hundreds of people routinely trampled to
death every year during the Islamic Hajj in Mecca (which can't be blamed on the
Israelis)?
Palestinian families of children used as "human
shields" for the Intifada, are consoled by $10,000
bonus checks signed by Saddam Hussein.
Now let's examine the Arab track record of racism and
genocide.
Everyone agrees that the worst form of racism is chattel
slavery, in which one race is oppressed and owned as the property of another.
Any person who enslaves another of a different race, is, by definition, a
racist. Well, here is a news flash: according to a United
Nations Report (that's right, the same "United Nations" that
keeps trying to pass resolutions condemning Israel as "racist,")
hundreds of thousands of Black Africans in Mauritania and Sudan are kept in
chattel bondage by none other than those same White Arabs who point an accusing
finger at innocent Israel. The victims of White Arab slavery are Black
African Christians who are subjected to torture if they refuse to accept
the Islamic religion.
It is significant to point out that one of the very first
victims of the "intifada" was Yossi
Tabaja, a Black Israeli. The Jewish victims have included
Jews of all races.
Now, let's examine the sickening accustion of "Nazi-like
genocide."
It is no secret that the uncle of Yassir Arafat, the Grand Mufti
Haj Amin Al-Husseini, was bosom buddies with the Great Satan, Adolf Hitler
himself. In his capacity as Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin recruited tens of
thousands of Muslims to serve in the SS. They wore a special uniform
combining Nazi insignia with Islamic symbols.
Muslims in the SS
As for genocide, the State of Israel is not calling for the
extermination and destruction of its Arab neighbors, but has offered concession
after concession for the sake of peace. How can this be termed
"genocidal?" The Arabs, however, have not hesitated to turn
Lebanon into a killing field, butchering thousands of Lebanese
Christians. When the Israeli Army (led by Ariel Sharon) attempted to protect the
Lebanese by driving the PLO out of Lebanon, the Arabs (and the gullible world)
pointed the bloody finger of blame away from the actual criminals, and towards
the innocent.
The most sickening example of Nazi-like
genocide committed by an Arab regime of course, is the 1988 Iraqi
massacre of over 100,000 ethnic Kurds.
And finally, the accusation of "stealing land." Look
at the map below to see how much land is occupied by the Arabs and how much is
occupied by Israel. The history of
Palestine shows that Jews have always lived on the land known as Eretz
Yisrael. During the thousands of years in which Jews lived on the land, they
were driven off by marauding robbers, who have only recently begun to call
themselves "Palestinians."
The
History of the Jews in Hebron (written long before "Zionism"
and "settlers" became an issue) documents the historic claim of Jews to this
holy city. The Jews of Hebron have as much right, if not more of a historic
right, to live in Hebron as the Arabs do. They are residents, not
"settlers." The absolutely racist intolerance of the Arabs at even
this tiny Jewish "ghetto" should be abhorred by any decent-thinking
civilized human being. ("enclave" is the politically correct word used
by the media instead of "ghetto.") Nor is "East Jerusalem"
"traditionally Arab." Jews have always lived in all of Jerusalem. In
1930, the British arbitrarily divided Jerusalem into "quarters" and
drove the Jews from the "Armenian," "Christian" and
"Moslem" quarters into the "Jewish" quarter, with the
dubious excuse of "protecting them" from rampaging Arabs, who had
already ethnically cleansed Hebron of its
Jews. In 1948, the Jordanian Legion
drove the Jews out of the "Jewish" quarter of the Old City. This is
how "East Jerusalem" became "traditionally Arab."
The Arab nations know that words like "racism" and
"genocide" are used by the media to denote horrible crimes
of oppression, therefore they use these sound bytes when describing Israel, their
enemy. However, these words more accurately, not to mention downright literally,
describe their own
crimes. Since the creation of the State of Israel, its leaders have begged only
to be allowed to live in peace, offering concession after suicidal concession.
The Arabs, however, continue to declare eternal war against a Jewish presence in
dar al-Islam. Arafat's most recent pronouncements, "we will raise
the Palestinian flag in every mosque and church and on the walls of
Jerusalem" leave no doubt that peace is not the path of his choice. In no
way can "both sides" be held equally responsible for the violence when
only one side is calling for the total extermination and annihilation of the
other.
When speaking of "occupied territories" the news media
gives the impression that Israel is so large that it dominates the entire
Mideast. The map above shows how large Israel really is compared to its
neighbors. Since the Palestinian Authority already controls much of the
"West Bank" and "Gaza," these areas are not under Israeli
"occupation." When the Arabs speak of "occupied" territory,
they are referring to any place in Israel where Jews live.
