"America First" or "Israel Last"?

The haters of the State of Israel and everything associated with it—such as, the Jewish people—have selected a new name for themselves. The 19th-Century sobriquet of “Anti-Semite” (coined by a German who wished to give a scientific sheen to old-fashioned Judenhass) should apply to them, so it’s argued, because Arabs are also “Semites” and they love the Arabs as much as they love America. So by a disingenuous trick of semantic legerdemain, “The Jews” themselves are labelled the “Anti-Semites” for defending themselves against the terrorist attacks of Palestinian Arabs.

On September 11, 2001, Americans—real Americans—who don’t feel the need to screech “America First!” at every opportunity because such an obvious and self-apparent thing is completely unnecessary—saw at first hand the enemies of humanity crash airliners full of innocent people into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, murdering thousands—they understood immediately what Israel, that outpost of progress in the midst of medieval tyranny, has been absorbing on a daily basis year after year. And almost immediately a groundswell of empathy erupted from one end of America to the other—The United States and Israel are in this together!

This left a very small minority of Jew-haters exceedingly unhappy. For even though they may have been horrified by the actions of the terrorists on Sept. 11, they were nevertheless fully in agreement with their motives. In the surge of patriotism that unified all Americans, the Jew-haters had to think of a way to justify their own prejudices without appearing unpatriotic. Without appearing to be in sympathy with the insane and evil creatures who destroyed American landmarks and murdered thousands of innocent Americans. In order to accomplish this, the Haters-of-Israel-and-anything-related have proclaimed themselves “America-Firsters!” wherein they, and only they, know better than anyone else what is in the best and proper interests of the United States, even if it is in contradiction to what the President, Congress and the majority of the American people believe.

The Sept. 11th attacks, the “American-Firsters” insist, would never have happened if the United States had kept its nose out of the Middle East or at least supported the Arab states instead of that s****y little country Israel. This is exactly the opinion voiced by that most patriotic gentleman, Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who always has “America’s best interests” uppermost in his shriveled little heart—NOT! Fortunately, the right honorable Mayor of New York, who is a gentleman and a true patriot, would not be a party to such an obscene libel, and he very indignantly rejected the Princelet’s proposition and threw $10 million back in his face. “To suggest there’s a justification for terrorism only invites this happening in the future,” Mayor Giuliani said. “It is highly irresponsible and very, very dangerous.” For his words and his actions following the Sept. 11th tragedy, this proud and courageous American has received praise and honor from his countrymen. The “America-Firsters” however, curse Mayor Giuliani as a “tool of the Zionists” and grumble that he should have accepted the Prince’s "constructive" criticism along with his millions.

Contrary to the desperate wishful thinking of the “America-Firsters” (who are really, as pointed out, “Israel Last’ers” wearing the cloak of the Stars and Stripes to disguise their hatred of Israel and Jews), appeasement of the tyrants sworn to Israel’s destruction is not, and has never been in the best interests of the United States. Two hundred years ago, when there was no State of Israel to blame things on and no Jewish community significant enough to operate an all-powerful lobby, American shipping in North Africa was being disrupted by pirates from the Barbary States of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria. These Muslims had a quaint custom of overtaking merchant vessels on the high seas, seizing their cargoes and taking their passengers and crew as prisoners. The captives who were not ransomed for exorbitantly high prices were sold into slavery. For a short time, the U.S. took the “easy way out” by setting aside a certain amount of “foreign aid” to be paid to the Barbary pirate states as “protection money.” But, as is usually the case with extortionists, the pirates demanded more and more “protection” to keep from attacking American ships. Finally, in 1801, Congress refused to cave in to the demands of the Pacha of Tripoli for an increase in “protection” funds. “Millions for defense, not one cent for tribute!” Infuriated that the Americans no longer catered to his whims, the Pacha declared war on the Yankee infidels. In response, the U.S. sent the Marines to the “Shores of Tripoli” to take care of the Pacha, setting American foreign policy precedent for the region and giving the U.S. Marines something to sing about.

Pandering to tyrants is not what America is all about. Tailoring American foreign policy to pander to the whims of such as Osama bin Laden and Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is not only in America’s “best interest,” but it is actually putting the interests of America’s enemies in front. The next time you hear someone recommend such a course of action in the name of “America First,” remember the “Shores of Tripoli” and what happened there.
